Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania - Founded in 1870 as the Central State Normal School, it joined the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education in 1983 and became Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, commonly abbreviated LHU. It is a state university and enrolls approximately 5,000 students, along with an additional 500 students at the Clearfield Campus.
